"Lost Prairie" speaks of nature and the west and the beauty of the wild spaces. The buffalo in the sky represent that spirit. This was a wild herd of bison that I was able to get very close to, and while photographing them, a magnificent thunderstorm rolled in, sounding like the thunder of a thousand buffalo running across the sky. I took that inspiration with me and found a beautiful prairie just north of Flagstaff, Arizona on public land that seemed just right to fulfill the vision.

I am a Colored Pencil Artist, and have been working in Colored Pencil for nearly 4 decades. It is my primary medium and the one for which I am known. But I also love graphite pencil and pastel - and occasionally acrylic!
